The mission of the East Corridor Transit Alliance Citizen’s Academy is to provide corridor grass roots leaders with a fundamental working knowledge of how to engage in the process of regional transit and better communicate its benefits to their communities. Beyond knowledge and engagement, the Academy seeks to ignite a passion for public transit and fuel community interest in its benefits.
The Transit Alliance East Corridor Citizen’s Academy is a program funded by a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Sustainable Communities grant awarded to the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). The Academy will play a strong role in achieving the grant’s goal of strengthening equal opportunities in housing and jobs within the corridor for people of all ages, incomes, and abilities.
